Some say Moraira is the jewel of the Costa Blanca with its low-rise, under developed green hills. It has been compared to the St Tropez of the Spain, which in some respects it is. Moraira is a fishing village nestled on the coast and benefits from still being a small, charming, well looked after village with its cobbled street where you will find the typical Spanish fish market at the end just beside the marina. There are plenty of little terraces and view points to keep you wanting more spotted all over the village and over towards the sought after area of El Portet.
If you take the road from Moraira over to El Portet you benefit from a truly breathtaking view not just over the marina however all along the coast to the Ifach rock which is just off of Calpe. This view is truly picture postcard perfect. As you walk along to El Portet you will find an idyllic beach of El Portet where you will find all the yachts sitting in the crystal clear waters. Again a stunning viewpoint and it will make you understand why Moraira is seen as the pearl of the Costa Blanca.
In the evenings in Moraira you have plenty to keep you entertained and plenty of things going on. This area of Spain seems to thrive on taking as many fiestas as possible and to be honest why not. The Moors and the Christians fiesta is the pinnacle of the fiesta calendar. So if you are going to visit Moraira try to visit during the Moors and the Christians since the entire week is one big fiesta!
